Herald-Leader eliminates 17 positions As part of a downsizing by its corporate parent, the Lexington Herald-Leader is reducing its workforce by the equivalent of 17 positions, or about 4 percent. The reductions were accomplished by elimination of open positions and layoffs of full-, part-time and temporary employees. Those leaving will be entitled to severance pay, continuation of health benefits and outplacement assistance. Those affected are being notified Monday. Together with voluntary
